Group picnic..

Image
Today was my group picnic for work. We have it at the same place every year, at a park in Germantown. I worked a full day, which I haven't done since I had Cayleigh(I missed herSO bad!), and Matt picked Cayleigh up from my mom's and brought her down. It was pretty hot, but year year in the past has rained, so we lucked out in our book. Cayleigh enjoyed playing on the slides and swings, and made a few friends there. She fell off the picnic bench 3 times, and luckily I caught her every time, even when my back was to her, hello mom vibes!! I didn't take any pics of adults, because kids are so much cuter!!! This little girl enjoyed my M&M cookies I made. In fact, they were the first thing gone! Then she threw up. Sigh. They found some wild raspberries.... A good time was had by all. We left and found out they clsoed 270 down for an accident so we crawled down 355 and it took us over an hour to get home. We stayed up late last night packing for the beach today!!!

Is it bad....

Lemon Sugar cookies...

Matt made these for me last night and if you like lemon, you will LOVE these!! Lemon Sugar Cookies 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 cup butter, softened 1 1/2 cups white sugar 1 egg 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 1/2 teaspoons lemon extract zest of 1 lemon 1/2 cup granulated or raw sugar for rolling cookies (I used raw sugar, which I think was an awesome choice) 1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line cookie sheets with parchment paper or tin foil and spray lightly with Pam. 2. In a small bowl, stir together flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Set aside. 3. Rub together the zest and granulated sugar until the sugar is a pale yellow color. This helps to infuse all of the oils in the zest into the sugar and gives your cookies an even more lemony flavor. Using a mixer, beat together the butter and sugar until smooth and very fluffy (about 3-5 minutes). 4. Beat in egg, vanilla extract, and lemon extract. 5. Gradua...

Our past few days...

We had a really nice weekend. We went to the carnival, celebrated Alycia's 16th birthday, and enjoyed fireworks. Friday at the carnival with Pam. We pretty much ate and walked around, saw a few friends, and people watched. Cayleigh didn't go on any rides, she didn't seem eager so we just watched them all and she really enjoyed that. We came back and celebrated Alycia's birthday with cake and fireworks since she would be gone for her birthday, which is today. Happy birthday lysh! Saturday we went back to my mom's for dinner and Cayleigh enjoyed helping Kristin shuck the corn....
No post since Wednesday! I will post a recap, but I left my camera at mom's yesterday so I can't post tonight. I will leave you with Cayleigh's newest thing she likes to do....Her ABC's with help from mommy! PS-Look at the bottom one first and then the top, I can't figure out how to switch them! p>
