When it rains...

Image
it definitely pours. I was on my way to work Thursday and pretty happy because for once, I was going to be early! I had a TON of work to do because of being off due to the snow. I was about 5 miles away when my car started jumping forward, ALOT. Long story short, I had to turn around and take it to the shop. My mom picked me up, I get to their house and my cell phone says it's disconnected. On the phone arguing with them for almost an hour. I decide I really should get home so my mom drives me home and oops, I left the keys at her house 25 minutes away. We decide to have lunch-I ask for a certain bread-*shocker* they are out(ok, that's no big deal, but I'm proving my rain theory so run with it). It was one thing after another that day!! I was never so glad to lay my head on my pillow and know a new day would come. One thing I did take note of while I was wallowing in pity for myself-I was sitting and waiting for the diagnostic test on my car to finish and whining on the pho...

Last day off...

Today we all had one more day to spend together before going back to work and "grammy's school"...We did absolutely nothing and it was fabulous! We watched movies and stayed in our jammies. Oh and I decided that I was finally going to mix colors of old play doh, thanks to a few friends who have shown me that is the way to live! :) I got close. Here is my poor attempt at mixing colors...Hey, they are touching. :) Just as I am putting away the play doh-I come across this...*shudders*

Homemade Salsa...

Image
I made salsa on Valentine's day and it turned out terrific!! It is SO much better than the stuff in the jar. Aside from the fact that I have a very small food processor, it was SO easy!! I must take a moment and thank Jessica who gave me the info on the pioneer woman where I got this recipe from!! :) I spent over an hour obsessing over her recipes and got some great ones!! Ingredients 1 can (28 Ounce) Whole Tomatoes With Juice 2 cans (10 Ounce) Rotel (diced Tomatoes And Green Chilies) ¼ cups Chopped Onion 1 clove Garlic, Minced 1 whole Jalapeno, Quartered And Sliced Thin ¼ teaspoons Sugar ¼ teaspoons Salt ¼ teaspoons Ground Cumin ½ cups Cilantro (more To Taste!) ½ whole Lime Juice Preparation Instructions Combine whole tomatoes, Rotel, onion, jalapeno, garlic, sugar, salt, cumin, lime juice, and cilantro in a blender or food processor. Pulse until you get the salsa to the consistency you’d like—I do about 10 to 15 pulses. Test seasonings with a tortilla chip and adjust as needed. ...

Our Valentine...

Image
So we were finally able to get out of the house and resume bakc to normal life this weekend and it felt SO good!! We visited with "Uncle Dam and Aunt Winda" Saturday night and they treated us to Cracker Barrel! We went back to their house for a bit and Cayleigh had a blast as always there-she was even spoiled with a valentine's day basket!! Sunday she got a few more valentine's day presents from us..She got puzzles, a DVD, a stamp set, and a few outfits. She also got a little bit of chocolate candy, but once I saw it was made completely out of crap(partially hydrogenated oil) it found it's way in the trash. :)Yes, I am that mom. Later that day Aunt Pammy came to our house and we had such a nice time seeing her, it had been too long! We ordered chinese and had blondies(that I am going to make another post about) for dessert! Oh and we also made homemade salsa that day(another post too!) Getting her presents... Her breakfast... Our valentine :)
