The day that changed our lives...

Image
2 years ago, December 13th 2006 was a sunny day, pretty cold day but overall average. It was the 347th day of the year, and the day before Matt's 24th birthday. Little did we know he was going to get the present of his life. I had been feeling queasy the past week or so and had a sneaky suspicion what it might be. I had a couple tests at home(buy one get one free test so 4 in total) and decided to "try one".....I took it and as soon as I did had a real feeling I was. I sat and stared as the first line formed and almost passed out when the second line did. I figured there was no way that was possible so I took the second with the little bit I had left in my bladder! That one was a dud, and only had one line. Crying at this point, I went to the fridge and got some water and drank almost a whole bottle, waiting to be able to test on the 3rd one. 5 minutes later I took the test and bam positive. 2 out of 3 wasn't bad! Matt called at that point and said he would be home i...

To grandmother's house we go!

Cayleigh is such a lucky little girl. While her mommy has to go to work part time(which she would MUCH rather stay at home with her baby girl!), Cayleigh gets to go to Grahmy's house. She gets greeted with all the love in the world by her 4 aunts, who are getting ready for school. She probably makes them late, as she always seems to make her mommy late! Then it is fun time with Grahmy. I don't know what they spend their day doing, but whenever I come to get her, she has the brightest smile on her face. She always has all of her toys spread all over the office or living room and she is pretty much the only one allowed to make a mess there and not get into trouble! Grahmy always says what an angel she was that day, and how much fun she has with her. I hope I can get that time with Cayleigh's children one day, I just see how much joy each of them get from one another. It never bothers me that Cayleigh ALWAYS runs to Grahmy when I get there, I know how easy it is to love that l...

Family....

Today Cayleigh and I ventured 81 miles to visit Uncle Keith, Aunt Mila, Sarah, Lauren, and Willow(and my dad!) in Phoenix, Md. We braved I-70 and 695 traffic in the rain and got there no worse for the wear. Willow and Sarah traveled all the way from AZ and we were so happy to see them. Lauren came as a surprise and it was great seeing her too! Cayleigh and Willow(17 months) got along ok, although they really just wanted to play with whatever toy the other one had! They did enjoy sharing every snack in my diaper bag though! Cayleigh wasn't a big fan of my Uncle Keith, had a mini meltdown every time he came in the room, we couldn't figure out why. She was a bit more clingy than usual, could be the 5 teeth coming in. My Aunt Mila was MIA most of the morning making a delicious brunch for us...Hated having to leave so quickly, but with the rain, had to try to avoid the rush hour! Cayleigh slept the entire way both ways! Home for the night, and going to take it easy! Before we left, ...

Tis the season....

This is my favorite time of year. I love everything about it, the lights blinking, the smell of the tree, the sound of the christmas music on all of the stations, I even like the brisk air! I am so excited to see Cayleigh's face on christmas morning. She is still young, but she knows Santa and even says ho, ho, ho when she sees him. It really the most wonderful time of the year.... For comparison, here are some pics of Cayleigh taken last year around this time. She has grown so much in a year. Last year she was working on lifting her head while on tummy time and this year she is walking, talking, and learning to say I love you. That will be the only christmas present I need from anyone.

A not so good day...

So late last night I started feeling under the weather and this morning(at 3am) I woke up feeling terrible. I either have a head cold or the flu. I couldn't sleep so just got up for the day and really regretted getting up so early when I got stuck on an 270 traffic jam. It took me an HOUR to get from route 85 to the Urbana exit! Ugh. Cayleigh is better, but the past few weeks she has had a bug and I am wondering if it was this bug......Here are a couple cute pics we took last week. Daddy put mismatched jammies on her! Playing with her Noah's ark.... 4 Princesses.....

Hanging out...

Today we got up and I made a couple special pancakes for Cayleigh...She loved them, although I am definitely no Rachel Ray! We also got together with our friends Sam, Megan, Ben, Nathan, and almost #3! Cayleigh adored their labs, Abby and Zoey. She kept pointing at them and mimicking their panting. She played so well there, and really enjoyed the rocking puppy they had. Santa may be bringing that! We had a wonderful time and I can't wait to hold their baby boy in the next couple months! We came home and Cayleigh decided a second nap was not in her future! Instead she has been playing very nicely all evening with daddy while waiting for the redskins/ravens game.....GO REDSKINS!
