My throwback post

I found this as Cayleigh and I were searching the internet today. She told me if her full name was on the internet, she was famous. :) I stumbled across a mommies board  I was on and had written this right before her first birthday. At the end she handed me a tissue and said "whew, guess it's true I'M FAMOUS!" Clearly my words didn't strike her. My almost one year old.....  My  baby  girl is going to be one in a couple of weeks. Even as I type this it seems unimaginable. In some respects it feels like I had no life before her, in other ways it seems like just yesterday. I go back to a year ago, just getting ready to go on maternity leave, but feeling really good still, just a bit more tired than usual. I remember changing my boy's name this week, since I was more than certain that is what I was going to have. In all truthfulness, I longed for a little girl to dress up and fix her hair, but I was preparing for a lifetime of dirt, bugs and kneescrapes!! I wa...

Spring update: Washington DC

Image
We made a half day trip to Washington DC because Cayleigh was learning about Abraham Lincoln in school. Sadly, we never made it to the Lincoln Memorial, but are planning to go back after the cherry blossom festival when it's a tad less crowded. Amanda came along with us and we ended up making it to see the White House and then walked to the Natural History Museum. Cayleigh loved seeing the Dinosaur exhibits and all of the life size animal exhibits. She assured us that she wouldn't mind the walking-she lied. Luckily her Aunt is WAY nicer than her parents and she was able to hitch a ride on her back for a while. At the White House

Spring update:Valentine's Day

I've decided to just update when I have time. No more guilt and no more promises! I think what really plagues me is that I don't get on my laptop like I used to. With my smartphone, who really needs it other than to work?! Anyway, we've been busy with house fix ups, school activities, girls scouts, and spending time with family and friends. Valentine's Day Cayleigh had a Valentine's day party at school which I was able to attend. I'm really blessed that I'm able to have a job that understands that being a mom is my #1 priority in life. I think they realize it makes me a better employee. :) She gets Valentine's day gifts because I believe it's never too early to teach a girl she deserves to be treated special by a man :) At her party for school As for me-my Valentine got me a tablet and took both his girls out for dinner. :)
