I am actually caught up!! Perhaps that is because we didn't leave the house or get out of our jammies all day! This morning Cayleigh had a few gifts left to open and her stocking...Matt made breakfast and we played with toys all morning...Nothing really of note, but tomorrow we will visit Aunt Linda and Uncle Sam for the afternoon. Cayleigh has already talked all evening about "unceee am"(uncle sam) and his kitties and dog. Cayleigh with her new camera :) Oh and tonight I blow dried her hair. I try to do it once a week or so, it makes me sad that it takes away her curls, but her hair is SO much easier to work with and gets is so much less knotty that way....Curls are hard work! Profile... ALWAYS talking like her momma! :) This kid is so funny she even cracks herself up! Her newest phrase is "I wudge you too mommy"(or whomever she is talking to)....She has been getting away with a ridiculous amount of things since she learned this. :)

Merry Christmas!!!

What a special day we had! Currently, Matt and Cayleigh are napping, and I'm not sure who is more tired. If only I could have captured the look on Cayleigh's face as she rounded the corner into the living room. I think Matt got it on video, but her jaw literally dropped when she saw the train set(she keeps saying "oh my goodness, a choo choo train!" every time she comes in the room) and all of the presents. She did tire of opening them all so she took breaks in between to play. Grandma Kathi came over and we enjoyed a yummy breakfast and the second round of gifts...and I got a new camera lens!!!! :) We headed over around noon to grammy and grandad's house for round 3 and a turkey dinner! Cayleigh got a dress up trunk and thought it was the best thing ever! She changed many times throughout the day....We also made sugar cookies and decorated them....Watched a couple movies and headed hoke for the night. We are so blessed and thankful to have so many people in...

Christmas Eve....

Christmas was an absolute awesome day, but I didn't want to overload one post, so we'll start with Christmas Eve. I spent the ENTIRE day baking cookies. You name it, I think I baked it! Let's see, PB cookies with and without kisses, PB cookies with Reese's pieces, Reese's cookies , sugar cookies, PB balls, and a brownie chocolate chip cheesecake! I need a nap just reading what I did!! Oh and Matt and Cayleigh made yummy cinnamon rolls that we shared with Mamaw, grandad and the girls. We headed to their house to spend time that afternoon, and came home to 2 presents that Santa must have dropped early for Cayleigh! she got jammies and a new book! That is one thoughtful big guy ;) We read her Christmas book about Jesus(as we did every night in December) and she got her chocolate from her calender and we got the santa plate out and she got carrots for the reindeer, and cookies and milk for Santa. she kept saying they needed "a but more" of everything. Making t...

Me. After talking to the insurance company, and having to tell the story 40 times, I think I'll wait until after xmas to write it all out, but in short I was on my way home outside of work and I hit a 2009 BMW, lucky I know. She stopped suddenly at a green light because she heard a siren(an ambulance that was stopped , waiting to go through the intersection), and although we were in the intersection, she thought it smarter to stop and chance our lives instead of just continuing through the light and out of harms way. Guess I told the whole story. :) I tried to stop but the pavement was wet and my car slid and hers didn't. I chose to go between her and a truck in hopes it wouldn't hurt her as bad as a direct blow to the back. Long story short, it was my fault(per the insurance company) and I took the car last night to the shop because I couldn't stand to look at it. THANK YOU TO GOD, for not having Cayleigh or Matt in the car. I'm sore, my back and neck hurt a bit, ...

Staying indoor....

Cayleigh woke up with a cold Sunday when she woke up so we didn't get to do any more playing in the snow, which in reality, wouldn't have been much playing but more being stuck given we had a good 18 or so inches...I was fortunate to have off Monday, but awakened to a lovely sore throat. :( Again, we decided to stay in today because she also wasn't feeling great. I am hoping by pumping us full of vitamin C and lots of homemade chicken noodle soup, we will be fine for Christmas. Anyway, here are some of the things that we've done in the house the past couple days... Played dollhouse.. Made cookies... Rode horses... :) Chatted with the horse :) Grocery shopped... Did puzzles... Cooked in her kitchen.... Played with her dolls.... Look at the 3 blue eyed girls :) At this point, I'm not sure who is more excited about Santa bringing new toys, her or me, lol! :)
