I decided before we left that I would buy a dress and take some pictures of Cayleigh on the beach. I love beach shots and find taking pictures relaxing. Sometimes I forget who I am taking the pictures of. When I ask for a smile I get this. and while I really like these kinds of shots-I did want her face in some. and while these are funny today, they weren't that funny after 20 shots of it. I got irritated, put the camera down and then thought "what the heck are you thinking?" She is 4. Her beauty isn't in a posed shot. It's in her goofiness, in the innocence that beams out of her. If I just relaxed, I would be able to capture her, and really that was all I wanted. Here are a few shots. In keeping with the natural vibes of the pictures, I didn't really enhance them, as I like them better that way. My favorite This was MUCH more her speed! and suddenly she started to relax! loving the water Happy we are all giggling Have I mentioned I love this kid? PS-did I ...

The next several days went alot like this: Get up wayyy too early thanks to a certain unnamed blondie, take a long walk on the beach, come back to the house for breakfast, back to the beach, back for lunch-repeat! Luckily for this blondie-this is what we woke up to, so it wasn't so bad when we were getting up at 6am. Hanging out with momma one morning.. and daddy Her favorite things at the beach were: Running after seagulls: "durfing"(surfing) Building sand castles Doing ANYTHING with her uncle dam :) Getting pictures.... NOT! Just threw that in to see if you were still reading :) The last day we went to the aquarium and had a great time-my brave soul of a kid touched a corn snake. I wouldn't even go close enough to snap the shot. Love this shot A great time was had by all-relaxing, fun in the sun, and NO WORK! What more could you ask for!! Oh and our family shot :)

BACK!!! Did you miss us?? *cricket, cricket* hehehe :) We had an awesome time in Nags Head, well specifically Corolla, NC. Getting there was interesting. About 12 hours before we were set to leave, our truck starting making an odd noise and an hour later, we realized it was the bolts on one wheel were not put on tight enough(AHEM thanks Sam's Club), so luckily it was a simple fix. The next morning we set off with hopes of a certain blonde cutie napping, watching TV, reading books, singing songs. Whose kid was I thinking of? Should I note past experiences? How about last summer ? Maybe the summer before ?? It started before we left the Dunkin Donuts, about a mile from our house. Sigh. We heard, "mommy, will we everrrr be dere?" "daddy, dis place is too far", and the classic "are we dere yettt? It feels wike forever!" Oh and by the time we hit Virginia, she started singing "Country girl shake it for me" and "dirt road anthem"...G...
