The fruits of our labor!

Image
So we decided to get a tomato plant with little hope this year, as we had to put it in a pot. For the first month it seemed we would only have the one tomato it came with when we bought it to enjoy, but thanks to a few friends who suggested plant food, I am happy to report we have 7 green tomatoes with many more buds showing signs! Matt and I LOVE tomatoes! Oh and Cayleigh likes the cherry ones, so next year we will do one of each! Here is my cell phone pic, I have more on the camera I'll add another day because we are headed to Virginia Beach for the weekend!!! I hope everyone has a happy and healthy 4th!

Our drive home....

Our ride home was an interesting one. We decided to leave at 5am Saturday, and really the ride started out uneventful. Cayleigh MUCH preferred riding in the car during the day(go figure). We we in South Carolina when a tractor trailer literally ran us off the road. We were in the left lane and he stuck his blinker(ironic I thought) on and started coming over. We were in about the middle of his truck so Matt slammed on the horn and the guy just kept coming. Matt had to run off into the median, but when he looked ahead, we were headed straight for a guard rail. Luckily a couple cars looked out for us and he was able to think quick and turn the wheel really hard and get us back onto the road before we hit it at 70 MPH. It was insanely frightening. The people who were behind us held up their phone saying we should call the police so we did, although the lady seemed to have cared less. We eventually sped up to the drive who happily waved his hand at us, almost laughing. Guess he figured it ...

Our last day....

Image
So Friday came and originally we were going to leave early that day. We decided to stay until early Sat. morning so we could soak up one last day of Florida and my grandparents. I want to take a minute out to say what a great time we had. My little ma and poppy have always been really special to me, but it was really amazing seeing them with my little girl. She is stubborn and may not have always been on her best behavior( shocking , I know), but she really enjoyed them too. She has been saying "pop-pop and pop-pa, and mom-mom since we left. I also wanted to add how generous and relaxed they were, which was so appreciated. They cooked us some amazing meals, and when they didn't always ended up winning the bill battle! Anyway, back to Friday. We were too lazy to go to the beach, so we got everything packed up and were able to relax. We swam and ended up just spending time, and had cracker barrel for dinner. Cayleigh was so tired that afternoon, it took 5 minuted to lay her ...

Thursday....

Image
Thursday was just a day of relaxation, didn't do much more than the norm of beach and pool. This is what was so great about the vacation. It was so relaxing not having to go, go, go...Not to mention being able to spend so much time with my grandparents. My beach babe... Think she likes the beach?! Her cheeser face....she say "ceese"! ------ We also took a short walk.... Poppy turned on the sprinkler and she enjoyed that..... but wanted to drink the water more than anything else out of her new minnie cup.... We also all tried on Poppy's hat, sorry Poppy! :)

Wednesday....Downtown Disney!

Image
We decided to head to Orlando on Wednesday. We had decided before we came that we wouldn't do Disney this year. Although she adores Mickey Mouse, she really wouldn't have gotten much out of it, and she is not patient. Plus the thought of her not taking a nap makes me shiver! We still wanted to go to Orlando and visit our honeymoon location and decided to visit Downtown Disney to give her a feel of Mickey! When we went on our honeymoon it was mostly nightclubs, but now it is much more family oriented. We went to the mall first, and stopped at the Bass Pro shops. Sounds like a daddy trip(and it was a bit) but Cayleigh adores their fish tanks! Here she is staring at the tank... Sitting on a rock outside the store :) After we headed over to Disney and Cayleigh napped, which worked perfectly. A family shot....Isn't her shirt great? Thanks again Kim and Maddie! She also has a matching minnie hair bow! By the water... With daddy, by the dragon made solely out of legos!! Hanging...

Tuesday...

Image
Tuesday we spent most of the morning at the beach.... We let Cayleigh drive there....She is so cute, how could we tell her no??! JUST KIDDING! :) We made sandcastles, and hung out in the ocean, which I actually enjoyed, which is unusual. The water was pretty calm that day. ................. We came home and my Aunt Jo and Monroe came over to visit us and meet Cayleigh. It was so nice to see everyone! Here is my Little Ma, Cayleigh, me, and Aunt Jo-do I not look so much like them?!?!

Monday....

Image
Monday we went to the mall, as it was another scorcher at 101, before the humidity. Poppy frequents the mall daily as part of his exersize routine, and said they had a kiddie place to play so we headed there. Cayleigh really enjoyed it, although a little boy did bite her when we were there. Did I mention our little baby turned 22 months Monday?? :) Where does the time go? Later we went swimming(shocking!) and enjoyed the cooler evening of about 95, lol!

Father's day...

Image
We didn't do anything extraordinary on Father's day. We were going to go to the local zoo, but with the temp at 101 without the humidity factored in, we thought better of it and skipped it. She spent the morning watering plants with her poppy wearing matching hats...aren't they the cutest? and looking at lizards....she would say "hiiiii" in a sweet tone and in the same breath tell them "gooooo, getouuut-hea"(go, get out of here for those who dont speak Cayleigh :) ) Afterwards, we went swimming... ........... After naps(we all took one!)and dinner, we went outside and Cayleigh wanted to play with the hose, which she had been eyeing up since we got there. Poppy said, why not, and let her loose! She played with it and got herself wet and Little Ma made the fatal mistake of asking Cayleigh to cool her feet off. We got more than we bargained for with that! She hosed up to our knees and then some! She had such a fun time with it.
