4 day weekend for me!

Image
I had to work Monday-Wednesday this week, since my mom couldn't watch her Thursday. I was thrilled to have a 4 day weekend! Thursday was SUCH the dreary day, we stayed in and I baked, cleaned and played with Cayleigh. I also started reading Twilight, and so the addiction began. Friday was a bit nicer, and Matt got off at noon, and despite an altercation with my neighbor upstairs, it was a great day! We went grocery shopping, and it is SO nice when Matt goes with me, I hate going without him and having to lug groceries and make sure Cayleigh doesn't run away in our apartment hallway-something she ALWAYS does. We came home and she took a nap, and Pam came over. We looked at her pretty cruise pics and went to dinner at Texas roadhouse-SO GOOD! Came back and watched our shows, and although she left after 11pm, I couldn't sleep until I finished Twilight. I will spare you a commentary, but it was a great book. I will be heading out today for the movie and next books! PS-IS ANYONE...

Just made a banana cake with cream cheese icing. It wasn't a pretty cake, fell a bit, but taste GREAT! An easy recipe that taste very rich in flavor! So here's the recipe. I added 1/2c sour cream and 1 tsp cinnamon to it and it did come out looking a bit flat, but it tastes AWESOME and with icing you can't even tell! 1 (18.25 ounce) package yellow cake mix 2 very ripe bananas, mashed 1 teaspoon baking soda DIRECTIONSPrepare yellow cake mix according to package directions. Mash the bananas with the baking soda and stir into the cake mix batter. Pour batter into one greased and floured 9x13 inch baking pan. Do not preheat oven. Place uncooked cake in oven and turn oven on to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Bake for 1 hour. Let cake cool thoroughly and then refrigerate. Cream cheese Icing: 1/2 cup butter, softened 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened 3 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla extract In a large bowl, cream 1/2 cup butter and cream cheese until...

Took a walk last week, not sure why we brought the stroller. Cayleigh would much prefer to push the stroller than sit in it! This is what she does when she is looking for something/someone...

Our fun weekend!

Haven't blogged in a whole week! Last week I was in a funk, just blah. I love living in MD and getting all 4 seasons, but toward the end of winter I just get tired of cold. I think it's because I know it isn't going to snow, so there is no reason for cold weather! Anyway, Kristin and Marissa spent the weekend with us while Mandy had a weekend getaway with her friend and they took Alycia to Richmond for a soccer tournament(shocker right?!?!) We had so much fun, Cayleigh loves having people at her house. Marissa is such a little momma, cleaning and organizing her room for us, she's so cute! Didn't actually do much, since Kristin's knee is injured, but did make it to the park and had fun there! Sunday we picked up Mandy and took her to a scrimmage and Cayleigh had fun running up and down the bleachers. Came back to Middletown and made dinner and dessert for the crew. All in all a very fun weekend that went way too fast! Playing with Marissa... She LOVES Marissa! Ha...
