My family of three

So I am officially out of my funk! Last night, we went to walmart, got groceries and came home and made lasagna. We made a batch for us and the neighbors who lost their son to SIDS this week. I brought it over, and introduced myself and offered my sympathies and they were VERY grateful. I won't go into how awful they looked, it will depress me again. Anyway, we felt much better after doing it, it will feed them at least 5 meals, if not more. Happy Valentine's day! Not huge on the day, personally find it to be a bit cliche' and hallmark, but we tried to make it special for Cayleigh. We got up and made heart french toast, and picked up a few things for her, which she loved! She is an easy buy, she likes almost anything! I've been in a small funk the past few days, and I think it has to do with my previous post. Certain things in life just strike you more than others and that just really hit home for me. Mom came over on my day off and took me shopping to get me out of the house and I was glad she did! Aside from working spent the last few days really spending time with Cayleigh, less tv and more play time. She learned how to blow a bubble out of the bubble wand, and says bub-ule. We also bought some play-doh and had fun with that until I let her play with daddy and she ate some. I suspect daddy was paying more attention to his own masterpiece, ;). Today was an odd day. I woke up this morning to Matt telling me there were cops outside our apartment. I thought great, just a bonus about living here. One of the cops was blocking my car so I sought them out to move their car. Turned out they were on the same floor as us. I thought great, probably drugs or domestic(I wish for that now). I found an officer and he and another officer and they agreed to move them. I asked how they were doing this morning and looking back they looked pretty solemn, and said "tired, been a long morning". Figuring they would offer information if they had wanted to, I didn't ask. I drove to work, grumbled about living in the ghetto, picked up Cayleigh, and came home. We played in her room and blew bubbles and had a fun afternoon, and when Matt came home he said he had talked with a neighbor and found out what happened this morning. We found him at Michael's craft store today and HAD to buy him! We were walking by the easter section and looking at things that would keep her from being bored and out peep popped(say that 5 times fast!) For $2.67, we have had more laughs with that than any of her toys!

This morning we woke up and when we heard what a nice day it was supposed to be, we decided to head to DC for a trip to the zoo(especially after Mandy's cute pics!). We decided to drive instead of taking the metro, as Matt cannot stand the metro. We got down there and it WAS a zoo, the parking that is. The whole zoo parking was filled, along with every parking space within 1/2 mile radius. We drove about 30-45 minutes and gave up, sad huh? We left and went to the Lakeforest mall and walked around for a bit and then went to Chevy's for lunch. A long day with nothing to show for. Matt did say from now on we will take the metro, lol. Came home and let Cayleigh play on the porch, which in all reality was just as fun to her! Oh and I forgot to add, I made a pot of vegetable beef soup in the crock pot with NO recipe and it turned out AWESOME! I was so excited, except for the fact that I can't remember what I put in it!
