The best intentions....

This morning we woke up and when we heard what a nice day it was supposed to be, we decided to head to DC for a trip to the zoo(especially after Mandy's cute pics!). We decided to drive instead of taking the metro, as Matt cannot stand the metro. We got down there and it WAS a zoo, the parking that is. The whole zoo parking was filled, along with every parking space within 1/2 mile radius. We drove about 30-45 minutes and gave up, sad huh? We left and went to the Lakeforest mall and walked around for a bit and then went to Chevy's for lunch. A long day with nothing to show for. Matt did say from now on we will take the metro, lol. Came home and let Cayleigh play on the porch, which in all reality was just as fun to her! Oh and I forgot to add, I made a pot of vegetable beef soup in the crock pot with NO recipe and it turned out AWESOME! I was so excited, except for the fact that I can't remember what I put in it!

Oh no! I don't love the metro either, but it's soooo much easier than driving. Not that I need to tell you that :) Sounds like you had a nice day anyway. Cayleigh looks adorable in that dress!

Oh no! That's terrible! I know of a big garage at the Van Ness/UDC metro stop - its the garage for the University of DC, but it's a FAR walk. And kind of sketchy... I had to park there when I worked in that area. I definitely think that the metro is the easiest!

And i LOVE the pink dress. Love Love Love!

We had our GPS and the closest parking place was I think .6 miles from the zoo, and our out-of-shape butts would have dies by the time we got to the park, lol!!

I decided to pop back into my blog and reminisce, and boy is it sad. All of my pictures are gone, thanks to a company wanting $400 to publish them. Black Bean burritos

We have really been on a mexican food kick lately. We have mexican at least twice a week, and the only downside is that Cayleigh isn't a huge fan, though she will eat quesadillas and now randomly has a new love for salsa. Lord, don't ask her to eat a chicken fajita, the world may end. Tonight's dinner was Black Bean burritos. I used this recipe as a base for my burritos, but did change it up a bit. Here is what I used, I will put in bold the changes I made: 2 (10 inch) flour tortillas (I used 4) 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (I only used 1/2, and used mostly pam) 1 small onion, chopped (I used a purple onion) 1/2 red bell pepper, chopped 1 teaspoon minced garlic 1 (15 ounce) can black beans, rinsed and drained 1 teaspoon minced jalapeno peppers (I used fresh) 3 ounces cream cheese (I used half a block) 1/2 teaspoon salt 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro I added a half a piece of chicken breast-it goes so much farther with beans Also added a handful of cut up fresh cher...

And the verdict is.....

Sinus Infection. I went to the doctor's today after work and he said I had a pretty bad sinus infection. In my experience, it is definitely my worst one of my life. My head hurts, my eyes are super red and irritated from the sneezing and blowing my nose a thousand times a day. Oh and my throat is scratchy and my ears are aching. I hate being sick. I hate going to the doctor's. I hate taking medicine, particularly medicine with no coating on it that are the size of my pinky finger. It is still raining, with no real end in sight. Hmm...anything else I can complain about? I want to keep it all in this post and just get it all out now so I can get over it! Well there was the fact that my doctor prescribed me eye drops and when I went to pick them up, it was $50!!! Forget it, I will suffer. I will take my $7 generic antibiotic and suffer with red, sore eyes. Ok, enough for today. I promise to be brighter when I am feeling better.
