Happy Mother's Day!

I hope everyone had a wonderful, special mother's day. We hung around the house, cleaning(shocking, I know!) because we had been at my mom's the past 3 days doing yardwork as part of her mother's day gift. We planted, put down mulch, mowed, etc. Yesterday was also Kristin's senior prom so that took up half the day, as I did her hair, nails, photos and helped with makeup. Today I just was happy to get a little order in the house! We also set up the new crib(no, I am NOT pregnant!) and Cayleigh loves it. We decided to put it in our room for the week to help her adjust to it being a toddler bed, but then we will put it in her room. No real reason to make the big change to a toddler bed, other than the fact that our AWESOME
cousin(ish :) ) gave us a new beautiful crib and we figured why not?!

Matt's mom came over for a bit and gave me a beautiful hanging basket. Oh and Matt had beautiful tulips sent, and the Giauque crew gave me beautiful roses, can you tell I LOVE flowers??! We went to my mom's for dinner and Cayleigh enjoyed Grandad spraying her with water! It was a bit cold, but how could you resist that face??!

It was a nice mother's day and it just helps remind me how thankful I am to be a mom to the most awesome, funny, beautiful little girl and how thankful I am to have such a stunningly beautiful, kind hearted, loving mom.

Day 2 of the snow....

Today we got a batch of ice which so nicely laid over our 2-3 inches of snow. Luckily, I was off and didn't have to call in! Matt went to work a couple hours late so I made a big breakfast with eggs, bacon, homefries, toast, and orange slices! We played and watched a good bit of TV, I'm not proud to say, but with Matt fighting a cold, and me with a headache again, I decided to make it a low key day and she was thrilled! After her morning nap and lunch, "we" decided to surprise daddy with some cookies. I let her watch me and she helped stir and lick the beater. Yes, there were raw eggs, and no, I don't think it will kill her. Our finished product! I might add this was my best batch of cookies EVER! Playing with her pics.... 10 is...

I decided to pop back into my blog and reminisce, and boy is it sad. All of my pictures are gone, thanks to a company wanting $400 to publish them. At least I have my words...On that note, I thought I'd write a bit of what 10 looks like: -Eating a bowl of cereal and a pop tart EVERY morning -Really starting to cooking unassisted. She made a 2 layer cake this week and thanks to a 2 hour delay I got pancakes. Teaching her to cook has been pretty cool.  -Begging me for a cup of coffee because she wants to be grown up. I let her have 1/2 a cup here and there-they say it stunts your growth. I say she is 5 foot 2 inches now so that's a lie. -Texting her friends and playing computer games with them as much as she is allowed. -Watching Hallmark movies day and night with me and Marvel movies with her dad. 8/21 and 8/22...

Two years ago today I was headed to the hospital ready to have my baby... At 1:02pm on August 22nd, we had our beautiful baby girl... It changed our lives forever. Cayleigh(aka-Kiwi, pee-wee, lovebug, etc) we love you so much and feel so blessed to have you as our little girl. Your sweetness and kindness is so beautiful, and your hugs and kisses mean more than you will ever know. Watching you grow and learn new things every day makes us so proud, and it remind us to slow down and look at life the way you see it.
