Without further adieu...

So the story goes......We went to the mall to pick up a couple things for our Florida trip. We always brings snacks for Cayleigh because she is not a stroller rider. Today I had packed her Blueberries and milk. Odd concoction, but she's a fan. We put her in her loud, noisy green stroller that sounds like it's in desperate need of some WD-40. Ok, ok the story.
We went in Old Navy and I was so thankful to have a unusually quiet child so I could shop! Matt went to the men's section, while I hit up the ladies department. I stopped and smiled a a really adorable and way cute pregnant girl. I turned and started looking at a cute tank top and heard this "ah-oh-ohhhhhh" kind of wail. I immediately thought the pregnant lady must have had her water break so I turned around with my loud stroller, "errrrrr-aahhh" is the sound. I pushed it over to see and I look over and an old lady is laying on the ground. I rushed over to help her out(she had a few people around her at this point) and I hear these words.....
"Looks like she slipped on something," and "what is that, blueberries?"

I almost died.
I turned around("errrrrr-aahhh") before anyone saw my kid chomping down on blueberries and made a dash only to run into Matt who saw the old lady fall. He thought she had been a victim of a purse snatching, as while she was falling, her purse flew in the air. He went to go help, until he too heard "where in the world did these blueberries come from?"
He looked at me and said "I'll take the kid, you take the clothes" and practically ran outside the store with Cayleigh, who was still enjoying what was left of her near fatal snack.
I walked around trying to decide what to do, and in the time the lady was up and said she was fine. The store got her name and number and said they were going to treat her to a gift card, although she insisted she was nothing more than shaken up. I watched the lady walk halfway through the mall and did look ok.
I walked out of the store and caught eyes with Matt and we both cried laughing. It was one of those moments where if you weren't laughing you were crying. I have NEVER been so utterly embarrassed in my entire life. I felt absolutely terrible for the lady, but for fear of getting sued never said anything.
What are the odds of falling on a blueberry?
Oh and PS-no judgement, you asked for it. :)

who knows though...
If Cayleigh likes blueberries you should bring her to Poolesville to pick some! Steven's blueberry farm should be open the last week of June. =)
