Catching up...

Cayleigh 2 year appointment was Friday. Matt was originally supposed to go, but had a rare opportunity for overtime that we just couldn't refuse, so I decided I'd be fine going alone.

HAHA.

Cayleigh woke up in rare form. She usually wakes up very happy and greets me with dozens of kisses and rubs my arm and hugs me. Not today. She woke up screaming. I went in and said good morning. She screamed "NO!".

I agreed then it probably wouldn't be a good morning.

She cried all morning as I got her ready, and held her neck, crying "ouch, hurt". She cried the 25 minutes to the doctor. I'm already exhausted and we haven't even done the hard part. As soon as she saw the building, she went from crying to screaming. I was able to calm her down to fussing in the waiting room, that is, until she heard the nurse call her name. The nurse who is associated with our doctor is probably her least favorite human being in the world, followed closely by her doctor. One look at this lady and it sent her over the edge. I brought her in and held her down while they measured her head and height. Then onto the weight. She would not get on the infant scale(which I really think she is a bit big for anyway), she would not stand on the scale, so I had to get on with and without her. She was NOT happy about me putting her down. Then because she was "warm"(per the nurse) they did a rectal temp. Please note, this is NOT a way to calm down a kid. The two of us could barely hold her down.

You are really feeling sorry for me at this point aren't you??

The doctor came in and she screamed through his normal practice of checking her eyes, ears, nose, mouth, etc....We discussed her feet that occasionally turn inward, and will set up an appointment with a pediatric specialist about it, though he thinks everything looks ok, he just wants to be on the safe side and so do I. The verdict? A 26lb, 36 inch 2 year old kid, who can wear out a 26 year old momma(not giving my stats, lol!). On a good note, she has picked up 3lbs in 4 months, rounding her out. She has been underweight for a year, so it's nice to see her fill in. Her height is on the tall side, no surprise there.

Oh and her neck issue lasted all day, but gone by the morning. We think she slept funny on it, and the doctor agreed.

Here is the only blurry shot I got of her, but really, this is how she looked for a good part of the day.
