A camping we will go...
We had so much fun camping last weekend, we decided to follow through with our original plans and camp this weekend as well.
Only stayed one night due to the weather, but we got there early Saturday morning and stayed through Sunday afternoon. Saturday afternoon we spent some time setting up the tent and organizing our food. Cayleigh ended up even taking a nap there, and to our pleasant surprise, napped almost 3 hours! She slept through the trains and cars passing and even our "neighbor" who set off his car alarm. When she woke up, we took a walk and explored. Cayleigh's favorite thing to do was throw leaves.
Sounds perfect so far right?
Wrong.
The bugs were horrendous. It was really only the stinkbugs and bees. Last weekend when we went there were no stinkbugs and a single bee that after Matt killed made it perfect. This week was about 10 degrees warmer and it made all the difference. I.hate.bugs.period. They just tormented me. The bees made it awful to eat and the stinkbugs flew all over the place and always landed on me. In my hair, on my clothes, on Cayleigh. I ended up napping with Cayleigh to get away from them, but I just ended up counting the ones on the outside of my tent.
That evening the Giauque clan came and camped too! It was dark by the time the tent was set up so we ate later, but it was nice to have no bugs bothering us. We had a terrific time, feasting on hot dogs, green beans, baked beans, chips, and smore's. Doesn't sound amazing, but everything cooked on the campfire is! We went to be @ midnight, and had a pretty good night's sleep, compared to last weekend before we bought an air mattress, which is now a MUST on camping trips.
Got up and made the best breakfast I've had in a LONG time, maybe ever! Eggs, bacon, potatoes and onions, toast, and apple fritter bread....Drooling yet? :)
Cleaned up our site, threw the frisbee around and headed home. Cayleigh was asleep before we left the park.
Some people have asked me, what in the world do you do for an entire day? Here is some of what we did.
We set up the tent...

We played trains..

We beat wood like daddy...

We played with sticks...

We hopped like a bunny and then giggled about it...

We played with airplanes...

We drove daddy's car...

We took a walk..

We played RAAAHHHH, and scared mommy....

and we squeezed in a nap..

How many people does it take to put away a tent?? hahahaha!

Playing frisbee...

Breakfast!

A BEAUTIFUL morning...

We're hoping to go back in 2 weeks for a Kristin/Layla birthday celebration. She will be 18 the 14th, and what a coincidence so will I!!! :*)
