Catching up...

Looks like I'm not keeping my promise to myself to update every other day :( Unfortunately, blogging can become a bit of a chore. If you don't keep up with it, the pictures and stories just pile up and don't seem appealing to get into because you know it is going to take a large chunk of time! Anyway, here's what we've been up to...

I went to Amanda and Alycia's soccer game earlier this week. Take note I said "I". Matt and Cayleigh stayed home, as 4 hours of soccer would have been WAY too much for her. Cayleigh was NOT happy about the decision though. Here are a few pics of the girls..They played VERY hard. Alycia even got in an article!! Crappy pics of her though, because I don't have the time to learn about my camera and figure out why my night shots are SO blurry.

Saturday was my birthday and my dad came up and spent some time with us, which was really nice since he works Saturdays usually. He even treated us to Texas Roadhouse, which was SO yummy! After Cayleigh's nap we went to my mom's and spent the evening with everyone minus Kristin. We had burgers, and oh, I got pretty flowers! :) We had originally planned to go to the Baltimore Zoo for my birthday, but I think I enjoyed what we did more.

Sunday we went to visit my Great Grandfather "pap-pap", and Cayleigh's great-great grandfather, which seems unbelievable. He is 94 and had been married to my great grandmother for 70 years, before she passed in 07'. Cayleigh was very nervous around him, but very well behaved, and did blow him a kiss and tell him bye before we left, which did light a spark in his eyes. The trees were in full effect up there and GORGEOUS. Cayleigh also made a friend with the cat in the nursing home.

So there you have it. Headed to a pumpkin patch today with a friend and her daughter, will try to post tonight.

Sounds like a great birthday weekend. I love the pics of the fall leaves. I miss that from living on the east coast, we do not get that in south texas.

I decided to pop back into my blog and reminisce, and boy is it sad. All of my pictures are gone, thanks to a company wanting $400 to publish them. At least I have my words...On that note, I thought I'd write a bit of what 10 looks like: -Eating a bowl of cereal and a pop tart EVERY morning -Really starting to cooking unassisted. Black Bean burritos

We have really been on a mexican food kick lately. We have mexican at least twice a week, and the only downside is that Cayleigh isn't a huge fan, though she will eat quesadillas and now randomly has a new love for salsa. Lord, don't ask her to eat a chicken fajita, the world may end. Tonight's dinner was Black Bean burritos. I used this recipe as a base for my burritos, but did change it up a bit. Here is what I used, I will put in bold the changes I made: 2 (10 inch) flour tortillas (I used 4) 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (I only used 1/2, and used mostly pam) 1 small onion, chopped (I used a purple onion) 1/2 red bell pepper, chopped 1 teaspoon minced garlic 1 (15 ounce) can black beans, rinsed and drained 1 teaspoon minced jalapeno peppers (I used fresh) 3 ounces cream cheese (I used half a block) 1/2 teaspoon salt 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro I added a half a piece of chicken breast-it goes so much farther with beans Also added a handful of cut up fresh cher...

And the verdict is.....

Sinus Infection. I went to the doctor's today after work and he said I had a pretty bad sinus infection. In my experience, it is definitely my worst one of my life. My head hurts, my eyes are super red and irritated from the sneezing and blowing my nose a thousand times a day. Oh and my throat is scratchy and my ears are aching. I hate being sick. I hate going to the doctor's. I hate taking medicine, particularly medicine with no coating on it that are the size of my pinky finger. It is still raining, with no real end in sight. Hmm...anything else I can complain about? I want to keep it all in this post and just get it all out now so I can get over it! Well there was the fact that my doctor prescribed me eye drops and when I went to pick them up, it was $50!!! Forget it, I will suffer. I will take my $7 generic antibiotic and suffer with red, sore eyes. Ok, enough for today. I promise to be brighter when I am feeling better.
