Florida Part 2-Orlando

Our second leg of the Florida trip was Orlando. We stayed 4 nights/5 days. We went to Downtown Disney Tuesday and were pleasantly surprised how light the crowds were. We were consistently surprised by the lack of heavy crowds given we were visiting the week after Memorial weekend. Wednesday we decided to relax in preparation for the next day-Magic Kingdom. We just hung out and went to the mall and played at the pool. Thursday was especially hot but we had an awesome time. I will say I was glad we didn't pay for the tickets(you may remember we volunteered back in April) because Cayleigh was definitely under-impressed with the majority of it all. She adored seeing the princesses and mickey and minnie, but as far as the rides went, she wasn't too excited. We got there at 9am and were back in the hotel by 4:30pm!! We decided not to go another day to a Disney park as we originally planned to and just make the last day a pool/hangout day-she LOVED the hotel pool! I must also mention this place restaurant the Alehouse-we went 3 times during our 5 days there! It was affordable and really yummy-plus it was a sports bar so Cayleigh wasn't the loudest person there! :)

OH! How could I possibly forget that we saw a local friend of ours while waiting in line to ride dumbo??!!! Hi Megan!

Day 2 of the snow....

Today we got a batch of ice which so nicely laid over our 2-3 inches of snow. Luckily, I was off and didn't have to call in! Matt went to work a couple hours late so I made a big breakfast with eggs, bacon, homefries, toast, and orange slices! We played and watched a good bit of TV, I'm not proud to say, but with Matt fighting a cold, and me with a headache again, I decided to make it a low key day and she was thrilled! After her morning nap and lunch, "we" decided to surprise daddy with some cookies. I let her watch me and she helped stir and lick the beater. Yes, there were raw eggs, and no, I don't think it will kill her. Our finished product! I might add this was my best batch of cookies EVER! Playing with her pics.... 10 is...

I decided to pop back into my blog and reminisce, and boy is it sad. All of my pictures are gone, thanks to a company wanting $400 to publish them. At least I have my words...On that note, I thought I'd write a bit of what 10 looks like: -Eating a bowl of cereal and a pop tart EVERY morning -Really starting to cooking unassisted. She made a 2 layer cake this week and thanks to a 2 hour delay I got pancakes. Teaching her to cook has been pretty cool.  -Begging me for a cup of coffee because she wants to be grown up. I let her have 1/2 a cup here and there-they say it stunts your growth. I say she is 5 foot 2 inches now so that's a lie. -Texting her friends and playing computer games with them as much as she is allowed. -Watching Hallmark movies day and night with me and Marvel movies with her dad. She is well rounded. -Still loving soccer, but recognizing that sometimes coaches can take away the sparkle of it. -Being 5'1" and wearing a bigger s...

8/21 and 8/22...

Two years ago today I was headed to the hospital ready to have my baby... At 1:02pm on August 22nd, we had our beautiful baby girl... It changed our lives forever. Cayleigh(aka-Kiwi, pee-wee, lovebug, etc) we love you so much and feel so blessed to have you as our little girl. Your sweetness and kindness is so beautiful, and your hugs and kisses mean more than you will ever know. Watching you grow and learn new things every day makes us so proud, and it remind us to slow down and look at life the way you see it.
