Part 1 of FL-New Port Richey!

I think I'll start my Florida blog and make it in 3 parts- New Port Richey, Orlando, and Palm Bay. Oh and my apologies from the start-I took alot of pictures-but we were gone 2 weeks!!

We left @ 3:30am Saturday fully anticipating that Cayleigh would sleep in the car for a few hours in the early morning. If you recall, our car trip to Florida last year did not go as well as we had hoped so when Cayleigh decided 3:30am was a good time to wake up for the day, we were nervous. We were even more nervous when we weren't even out of Maryland when the "Mommy, I want to go home" and "Daddy, I don't want to go to Florida" began. We started the TV early. Oh and the wanting to go home continued the entire 2 weeks.

We decided to stop in Atlanta @ 1pm at the mall for a walking break. We ended up at my Grandmom's house by 8:30pm that night and stayed until Tuesday.

Sunday:
We decided ahead of time that we would go to the Tampa Zoo Sunday. It was rated Parent magazine's #1 zoo so we thought we'd give it a try. It was really nice! It wasn't nearly as crowded as the National Zoo and they had some different animals too. The highlight of the day was definitely Matt and Cayleigh feeding the giraffe's. We also went on a boat ride to see manatee's and alligators but nothing showed and Cayleigh got bored fast.

Monday:
We actually had nothing else planned but given the current situation with the gulf, we decided to make it a beach day at Clearwater Beach. What an absolutely amazing place! Matt had never been to the Gulf side and I last went when I was 5. We have pretty much only seen the Atlantic, and while that is pretty, the Gulf is amazingly beautiful. It was so calm and serene, clear and white sands. We can only hope we will see it again looking like that in our lifetime.

Look at that gorgeous sky and sand-glorious!

Tuesday:
Since we had such a nice time Monday at the beach and our Orlando check in wasn't until the afternoon, we decided to go to the local park that had a beach for the morning. Aside from the fact that it was so clear that you could see everything that was swimming around me, it was a gorgeous day.
