UGH!

First off, our family lost a great lady Saturday evening. "Gahmy" passed away at 93. She will be greatly missed and was really a wonderful person. She was graceful, classy and beautiful and thats how I will always remember her.


Secondly, my kiwi girl is sick. She's been sick since Friday, but man, when this kid gets sick, she gets really sick. I ALWAYS regret saying we've had a relatively healthy winter. Why do I say that??

I took off today and took her to the doctor's thinking he'd send me away with a dose of "give it a couple more days" and a 'script of "it's just a virus", so you can imagine my surprise when he said it was an upper respiratory infection, possibly bronchitis and a double ear infection.

She basically has a high fever that motrin/tylenol combo isn't putting a dent in, a really bad cough, nasal drippage, and vomiting the mucus build-up. He gave her meds, which she promptly threw up right after I gave them to her. Sigh. It's going to be a long week.

I decided to pop back into my blog and reminisce, and boy is it sad. All of my pictures are gone, thanks to a company wanting $400 to publish them. Black Bean burritos

We have really been on a mexican food kick lately. We have mexican at least twice a week, and the only downside is that Cayleigh isn't a huge fan, though she will eat quesadillas and now randomly has a new love for salsa. Lord, don't ask her to eat a chicken fajita, the world may end. Tonight's dinner was Black Bean burritos. I used this recipe as a base for my burritos, but did change it up a bit. Here is what I used, I will put in bold the changes I made: 2 (10 inch) flour tortillas (I used 4) 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (I only used 1/2, and used mostly pam) 1 small onion, chopped (I used a purple onion) 1/2 red bell pepper, chopped 1 teaspoon minced garlic 1 (15 ounce) can black beans, rinsed and drained 1 teaspoon minced jalapeno peppers (I used fresh) 3 ounces cream cheese (I used half a block) 1/2 teaspoon salt 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro I added a half a piece of chicken breast-it goes so much farther with beans Also added a handful of cut up fresh cher...

And the verdict is.....

Sinus Infection. I went to the doctor's today after work and he said I had a pretty bad sinus infection. In my experience, it is definitely my worst one of my life. My head hurts, my eyes are super red and irritated from the sneezing and blowing my nose a thousand times a day. Oh and my throat is scratchy and my ears are aching. I hate being sick. I hate going to the doctor's. I hate taking medicine, particularly medicine with no coating on it that are the size of my pinky finger. It is still raining, with no real end in sight. Hmm...anything else I can complain about? I want to keep it all in this post and just get it all out now so I can get over it! Well there was the fact that my doctor prescribed me eye drops and when I went to pick them up, it was $50!!! Forget it, I will suffer. I will take my $7 generic antibiotic and suffer with red, sore eyes. Ok, enough for today. I promise to be brighter when I am feeling better.
