An average day off...

As most of you know, I only work part time. Some weeks, I feel like my time with her is never enough, so hat's off to those of you who can pull off a full time gig. Most of my days off, we try to get outside, but today was a rainy day.


Our day started off with a little "tee-viv"(TV). Her favorite shows these days are Chuggington and Jake and the Neverland Pirates.

From there, it was time to have breakfast and start learning! We learned about letters for a little while and counted some things around in the house. We identified some colors and shapes as well.


Next up, it was playing...First up, dress up!

Then she put on a show for me....Her favorite song is by Rihanna and I won't disclose the name of it since this is a family blog. Ahem. She heard it edited on the radio, but I didn't download the right version so I only let her listen to the first 15 seconds of it that are appropriate. Sigh.

From there was lunch and naptime. That's about it. Nothing glamorous or fancy, just good old fashioned time! I absolutely cherish my days off and though my bank account suffers(especially when the Govt is threatening a shut down!) I wouldn't change a thing.

I decided to pop back into my blog and reminisce, and boy is it sad. All of my pictures are gone, thanks to a company wanting $400 to publish them. Black Bean burritos

We have really been on a mexican food kick lately. We have mexican at least twice a week, and the only downside is that Cayleigh isn't a huge fan, though she will eat quesadillas and now randomly has a new love for salsa. Lord, don't ask her to eat a chicken fajita, the world may end. Tonight's dinner was Black Bean burritos. I used this recipe as a base for my burritos, but did change it up a bit. Here is what I used, I will put in bold the changes I made: 2 (10 inch) flour tortillas (I used 4) 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (I only used 1/2, and used mostly pam) 1 small onion, chopped (I used a purple onion) 1/2 red bell pepper, chopped 1 teaspoon minced garlic 1 (15 ounce) can black beans, rinsed and drained 1 teaspoon minced jalapeno peppers (I used fresh) 3 ounces cream cheese (I used half a block) 1/2 teaspoon salt 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro I added a half a piece of chicken breast-it goes so much farther with beans Also added a handful of cut up fresh cher...

And the verdict is.....

Sinus Infection. I went to the doctor's today after work and he said I had a pretty bad sinus infection. In my experience, it is definitely my worst one of my life. My head hurts, my eyes are super red and irritated from the sneezing and blowing my nose a thousand times a day. Oh and my throat is scratchy and my ears are aching. I hate being sick. I hate going to the doctor's. I hate taking medicine, particularly medicine with no coating on it that are the size of my pinky finger. It is still raining, with no real end in sight. Hmm...anything else I can complain about? I want to keep it all in this post and just get it all out now so I can get over it! Well there was the fact that my doctor prescribed me eye drops and when I went to pick them up, it was $50!!! Forget it, I will suffer. I will take my $7 generic antibiotic and suffer with red, sore eyes. Ok, enough for today. I promise to be brighter when I am feeling better.
