Eight....

Today I woke up and realized it's been 9 years since I found out I was pregnant. What a whirlwind motherhood is. It's so beautiful it's hard to find words for it. I knew it would be a journey and a fast one at that, but had no idea how much it would grow to define me.....and just how much I'd want it to.

Back to my girl, she has grown so much! She is currently 5.5 inches shorter than me at 55 inches and 91 lbs....wonder who she gets that from? Here are a few things about my 8 year old


-Her favorite thing in the world is a day at home with mom, dad and scout with nothing to do.

-She calls Matt pop and it melts us. I still get momma, but it's slowly starting to be mom(insert sob).

-Her favorite movies are Monster High, Back to the Future, Jurassic World, and Titanic. 

-She loves cooking shows(cake boss and master chef junior), littlest pet shop, but survivor is her all time favorite(she would fall into a show hole if I'd let her,google the commercial for reference)

-Speaking of Titanic, her favorite books are nonfiction books about Titanic, Dinosaurs, and really anything about history. She also loves magic treehouse, the 'I survived' series and rainbow fairy books.

-She LOVES Scout and he loves her. She loves dancing with him, putting hats, scarves, or anything she can find on him. She still cleans up after him with very little whining. He sleeps at the foot of whatever bed she is in every night and when she is gone at school he mopes.

-She is very into music-Taylor Swift is her favorite. You can find her with headphones on jamming away often to any of her music..Right now wildest dreams and Adele's hello is her favorite. She still really loves country too.

-She still plays barbies some, but mostly monster high. She also likes her jurassic world dinosaurs.

-She spends most of her free time drawing, coloring and doing anything art related.

-She cut her hair earlier in the year and donated it to Pantene. She is currently growing it out to do again.

-Her favorite foods are homemade chicken noodle soup, Little Ma green beans and applesauce, wings. She hates mashed potatoes and spaghetti made by anyone other than me. She tolerates mine, lol.

-She wants to become a Veterinarian when she grows up.

-She still loves soccer. Soccer is usually a fall sport, and  I tried to convince her to try basketball this past winter...nope. I even offered to take the winter off...nope. Soccer at our house is a fall, winter, and spring sport....any guesses what summer camp is her favorite?

10 is...

I decided to pop back into my blog and reminisce, and boy is it sad. All of my pictures are gone, thanks to a company wanting $400 to publish them. At least I have my words...On that note, I thought I'd write a bit of what 10 looks like: -Eating a bowl of cereal and a pop tart EVERY morning -Really starting to cooking unassisted. Black Bean burritos

We have really been on a mexican food kick lately. We have mexican at least twice a week, and the only downside is that Cayleigh isn't a huge fan, though she will eat quesadillas and now randomly has a new love for salsa. Lord, don't ask her to eat a chicken fajita, the world may end. Tonight's dinner was Black Bean burritos. I used this recipe as a base for my burritos, but did change it up a bit. Here is what I used, I will put in bold the changes I made: 2 (10 inch) flour tortillas (I used 4) 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (I only used 1/2, and used mostly pam) 1 small onion, chopped (I used a purple onion) 1/2 red bell pepper, chopped 1 teaspoon minced garlic 1 (15 ounce) can black beans, rinsed and drained 1 teaspoon minced jalapeno peppers (I used fresh) 3 ounces cream cheese (I used half a block) 1/2 teaspoon salt 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro I added a half a piece of chicken breast-it goes so much farther with beans Also added a handful of cut up fresh cher...

And the verdict is.....

Sinus Infection. I went to the doctor's today after work and he said I had a pretty bad sinus infection. In my experience, it is definitely my worst one of my life. My head hurts, my eyes are super red and irritated from the sneezing and blowing my nose a thousand times a day. Oh and my throat is scratchy and my ears are aching. I hate being sick. I hate going to the doctor's. I hate taking medicine, particularly medicine with no coating on it that are the size of my pinky finger. It is still raining, with no real end in sight. Hmm...anything else I can complain about? I want to keep it all in this post and just get it all out now so I can get over it! Well there was the fact that my doctor prescribed me eye drops and when I went to pick them up, it was $50!!! Forget it, I will suffer. I will take my $7 generic antibiotic and suffer with red, sore eyes. Ok, enough for today. I promise to be brighter when I am feeling better.
